Giving and donations

Ways to give to HCP

Thanks to the deliberate acts of generosity from you and others, HCP patients and families receive the highest quality of care. Your gifts make this possible and every donation, regardless of size, brings comfort.

Donations

Donations are one of the biggest factors in the success of our efforts at HCP. Each year we are amazed and humbled by the generosity of our supporters.

Memorial and tribute gifts

Memorial and tribute gifts offer a way to remember or honor a loved one, while also supporting Hospice of Central PA. Families are notified that you have made a gift (not the amount of the gift) when you provide a name and address for this purpose.

Third-party events

A third party event is when a business, organization or family plans a special event to benefit Hospice of Central PA. HCP is the fortunate recipient of the net proceeds of many third party events throughout the year including the Bob Baish Memorial Golf Tournament, Aroostine’s Lemonade Stand and the Shellsville Horseshoe Tournament in memory of Casey Koons. These events happen independently of HCP. For information regarding our guidelines, please click here. With additional questions, please contact Kelly Myers at (717) 943-1052 or kmyers@hospiceofcentralpa.org.

In-kind gifts

HCP encourages in-kind gifts that enable us to care for patients and their families at Carolyn’s House, our 24-hour hospice residence. If you want to make a gift in-kind that is truly needed please choose Bounty® paper towels (individually wrapped), Puff’s® tissues, Tide® High Efficiency detergent, Bounce® dryer sheets, New nightgowns in XXL and XXXL, individually wrapped granola bars, chips, nuts, crackers and snacks for visiting family members, magazine subscriptions for visiting family members, flat sheets and pillow cases (twin) in lilac, rose, yellow, peach, green and blue (as the rooms are named), men’s and women’s body washes, body lotion, tooth brushes and travel size deodorants and toothpaste. Please know that HCP’s gift acceptance policy does not allow us to accept gifts of furniture, artwork and décor. Thank you for helping us to uphold these policies.

The Legacy Society

HCP’s Legacy Society was established to recognize and honor all who name Hospice of Central PA as a beneficiary of a will, trust, retirement plan, life insurance policy, life income gift or other type of planned giving arrangement. All are welcome to join the Society regardless of the size of the bequest or planned gift. By becoming a member, you join a community that embraces specialized care at the end of life.

Gifts of stock

Thank you for considering a gift of appreciated stock or a charitable IRA distribution! When you make a gift to HCP by transferring appreciated stock, mutual funds or a distribution from your IRA, you can support a market leader for care and satisfaction and receive tax savings.

Please click here to download and complete the Gifts of Stock form.

Please contact emihmet@hospiceofcentralpa.org or (717) 732-1000 to tell us of your intent to donate so we can properly credit your gift and assist you with the transfer.
