Tom Martin - President

With a career in advertising spanning four decades, I established Martin Communications, Inc., in 1993 to provide clients with marketing, advertising and media strategy/buying services based on a simple premise of faster, better and more cost effective than competitors. The spare bedroom, three-legged kitchen table headquarters launched a business whose on-going success with an ever-increasing staff is the result of long-standing, valued relationships with both clients and those who provide us with subcontracted services.

Barb Henderson - Vice President

Joining Martin Communications in August 2001 as a part-time office assistant, Barb’s high attention to detail, accuracy and creative problem solving created a natural path to greater responsibilities. Her expanded involvement moved her into client services, then to media buyer and to her current role as Vice President. Our clients’ reliance on her for responsiveness and organization elevated her to an account executive position for two of the agency’s largest clients. Additionally, she serves as the agency’s CFO.

John Hoch - Art Director

John joined Martin Communications in 2012. Accumulating over 20 years of experience, one thing hasn’t changed, his passion and commitment for creating award-winning design solutions that satisfy clients, please users, generates results and, on occasion, win an award or two.
Along with John’s positive attitude, stellar work ethic and appetite for challenge, he has provided a full spectrum of graphics, identities, advertisements, package design, interior and environmental designs that created value to that common denominator of all clients—strong, effective design that meets targeted audiences and generates sales.

Rod King - Web/Interactive Director

Joining Martin Communications in July of 2013 and bringing years of experience in graphic design, new media development and online strategies, Rod is an integral part of our firm's web, print and digital media services. He collaborates with other designers, internal staff and clientele in developing and implementing broadcast media, digital media and online strategies.
Rod is well versed with Adobe Creative Suite software, creating and implementing the diverse services and products we provide. Rod continues to expand and enhance his internal and external capabilities with his forward thinking and up-to-date knowledge of current industry trends and practices. In addition to his on-the-job duties, Rod helps to expand the firm's business development—acquiring and sustaining current, new and potential clients.

Luke DeBord - Senior Graphic Designer

Luke is an exceptionally hard worker with great attention to detail. A graduate of The Art Institute of Philadelphia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Design, he has a very keen eye for effective advertising.
Joining Martin Communications in November 2012, Luke has an optimistic attitude, dedication to the company and overall strong quality of design, making him a perfect fit. He first made his mark here at Martin Communications, quite literally, by re-branding the company with our new logo and corporate identity materials.
His strengths include strategic brand development, corporate identity, print ads, collateral pieces, billboards, as well as static and animated web ads. Luke has a firm knowledge of the design and photography programs within the Adobe Creative Suite® and is an active member of the AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts).

Lindsay Sowers – Graphic Designer

Lindsay joined the Martin Communications team at the end of November 2016 as a part-time graphic designer. After demonstrating her hard work, design skills and dedication to meeting the demands of the position, she was invited to become a full-time graphic designer in December 2016. She graduated from Kutztown University in May 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education. She then continued her education and received an Associate of Science degree in Graphic Design from The Art Institute of York in March 2015.
Lindsay takes immense pride in the work that she creates. Her goal is to always deliver an effective, focused, and on-target product that fits our client’s needs. Lindsay is an active member of the AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts).

Gina Yost - Graphic Designer

With a degree in Graphic and Interactive Design from Millersville University, Gina joined the Martin team as a Graphic Designer in 2017. Prior to joining Martin, she worked as an in-house designer in York, PA and brings experience in implementing company brand standards across print and interactive media. Gina strives to keep user expectations at the forefront of her designs and pushes the limits of technology to accomplish a successful user experience.
Gina is a member of AIGA (American Institute of Graphic Arts).

Bryan Aungst - Account Director

After finishing his Master’s in Communication and Information Studies, Health Communication, from Rutgers University in 2015, Bryan joined the team at Martin Communications as an Account Manager. Having focused his studies and career work in healthcare organizations, he brings an understanding of industry challenges to the table. With a strong interest in the changing healthcare landscape and the role that new media will play in the future, Bryan looks to help our clients exceed their goals.

Kelsey Steinmeier - Account Coordinator

Kelsey is a 2012 graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Communications and a minor in Business Administration. She comes to Martin Communications as an Account Coordinator in the Spring of 2017. Her experience includes serving as an Account Manager in the printing industry, benefiting her clients with an eye for design and close attention to detail. Kelsey ensures all projects are running smoothly and keeps the client up-to-date every step of the way.

Colleen Jones - Media Manager

Originally from Northeastern PA, Colleen moved to Harrisburg after receiving a degree in Music and Business from Susquehanna University in 2005. Working for the Whitaker Center and the Central Penn Business Journal/Central Penn Parent magazine over the past decade, she has created successful events, designed around intelligent marketing plans and strong relationships with clients and vendors.
Her strengths include resourcefulness, efficiency and common sense in building media campaigns, as well as an ability to see how small details fit into the big picture of a successful media strategy.

Shaun Foley - Media Buyer

A graduate of Central Penn College and a Harrisburg native, Shaun joined Martin Communications in 2017. Growing up thinking he would follow in his grandfather’s footsteps to become an engineer, Shaun developed a keen eye for the small details, a desire to understand how things work and how to make them more efficient. He brings those strengths, along with more than 15 years of experience in public relations, marketing, event production, project management and customer service. On a daily basis, you can find him collaborating with the management and accounts teams, proofing design projects and negotiating with vendors to build successful media campaigns.
A valuable addition to the Martin media team, Shaun is a real team player. He takes pride on building lasting relationships and has attributed that to his, as well as his clients, success in the ever-changing business landscape.

Jodi Morelock - Project Coordinator

Jodi joined the Martin Communications team at the end of May 2014. She graduated from Shippensburg University in December 2009 with a degree in Communication/Journalism and a certificate in Graphic Design. She has over 15 years of customer service experience and two years of experience in advertising.
Jodi started her advertising career at one of Martin Communications’ outdoor advertising vendors. It was there that she first developed a passion for marketing and advertising. Advertising done right can make a huge difference for all businesses large and small. Jodi has a great sense of organization and attention to detail. She uses both of these skills to make sure that all the projects that come through Martin Communications stay on track.

Emily Henderson - Office Assistant

Graduating from Shippensburg University in 2014 with a degree in Mid-Level Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics and Science, Emily worked part-time at Martin Communications before accepting her full-time position in August 2016. Her duties have expanded to include accounts payable and receivable while welcoming guests at the office and being the telephone voice that greets callers.
Her customer service experience was developed while working four summers at Hersheypark to help pay her college expenses. Here, she was recognized twice as an Outstanding Employee and received two promotions. Before joining Martin, she was a preschool teacher honing skills of organization, teamwork, patience, communication and leadership.

A full service advertising agency in the Harrisburg, PA area
